Twitter for Android updated, new design and more in tow

Twitter has released a brand new update for its official Android app today. The updated app new adheres to Android design principles and reflects a native experience.  The app now brings wider and taller timelines that fill the screen, a flat navigation bar, tap and hold for quick actions, and more.

In addition, you can also swipe across the screens to change tabs and autocomplete suggestions for usernames and hashtags.

Here is the full change-log of the Twitter for Android v4.0 update:

  • We’ve got a brand new look and feel crafted for Android 4.0+. Navigate seamlessly between your favorite parts of Twitter with a simple swipe.
  • It’s easier to connect with friends and join conversations with @username and #hashtag suggestions that appear as you search or compose a Tweet
  • Discover, install and launch your favorite apps from Tweets
  • Other bug fixes and improvements
