Acer to enter phablet segment with Liquid S-series

Adding to the growing list of manufacturers launching big-screen smartphones, Acer is now planning to release its phablet devices. In an advertorial in Mobile World Daily 2013, ST Liew, who is Smartphone Business Group President at Acer, revealed that his company is planning to launch Liquid S-series of phablet devices.

This is the first time we are hearing about Acer phablets, although it is certainly not surprising given the popularity of Samsung phablets like Note and Note II and recently entry of Huawei, ZTE and LG in the segment.

There are no details available about this smartphone, but we can expect mid-range specs given Acer’s recent Android launches.

To remind you, Acer showcased three new Android devices at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress – Acer Liquid E1, Liquid Z2 and 16GB version of Iconia B1 tablet.
