Update [Feb 19, 2013]: Turns out Flipkart listing have been all wrong and both Alcatel OT 4005D and OT 4010E smartphones run on Gingerbread not Jelly Bean as reported by us earlier. Flipkart has rectified their listings now as pointed by Deepak in comments. The retailer has also stopped taking orders and has put both the phones on pre-order.
We will be waiting for the official announcement before writing anything more as there is a lot of confusion right now.
We apologize for the errors, clearly we can’t trust Flipkart listings so much. We will be more careful in the future.
Update: As pointed out by binga in comments, Flipkart has now marked OT 4010E as permanently discontinued and has put OT 4005D on pre-order. The removal of 4010E certainly makes sense as there were lots of issues with the listing and half of it was not making sense. Alcatel OT 4005D still exists but you will have to wait until March second week.
Earlier: Alcatel India has silently launched two Android 4.1 Jelly Bean smartphones in its One Touch series. Dubbed as Alcatel OT 4005D and OT 4010E, the phones are now available on Flipkart (2). Priced under INR 5,000, these are the first Android phones in this price-bracket with Jelly Bean on-board; all other Android phones run on Gingerbread.
On paper, Alcatel has just killed the competition with these two launches. Android phones with 4.1 on-board are better than Gingerbread smartphones any day.
OT 4005D packs all the usual connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G.
OT 4010E features 2MP rear camera, 3.5-inch capacitive display with HVGA resolution, 1GHz processor, 1000 mah battery and dual-SIM connectivity. The phone also comes with 256MB RAM, 1.4GB of usable internal storage and microSD card slot. The smartphone is available for INR 4,999.
We are looking in these discrepancies and will update the post, as we know more.

Things are more clear now at flipkart. They are taking the preorders of OT 4005d and it will be launched in 2nd week of march while the OT 4010e is permanently discontinued according to them. So now the case of higher price and lower specs is not there.
As per flipkart Both the mobiles are of Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS only but not Jelly Bean
@Deepak Earlier the Flipkart was showing both the phones running on Jelly Bean. Anyways, we have updated the post. Thanks for pointing out.
Can’t understand what people at flipkart are doing. I was going to order it today but can’t do so now as they run gingerbread. Really poor stuff from flipkart..
have we got any update? Planning to buy one for my sister..
