Intex to launch Android phone ‘Aqua Style’ with 5.9-inch display

Intex is planning to launch an Android smartphone with a huge 5.9-inch display in the Indian market soon.  There is no word on the exact launch date or final pricing, but the smartphone is likely to be released in the coming weeks.

Dubbed as Intex Aqua Style, the smartphone will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone will also come with dual-SIM connectivity, 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. The display on the smartphone sports WVGA resolution, which is a downside, considering its huge size, but then it is expected to be priced around INR 10-11K and we can’t expect much in this price-bracket.

Other specifications of Intex Aqua Style include 2500 mAh battery, 1GB internal storage, 512MB RAM and microSD card support.

This is not the first smartphone with such a huge display to be launched in India. Karbonn was the first company to announce A30 with similar 5.9-inch display, followed by Swipe Telecom, which recently released MTV Volt smartphone with 6-inch display.
