Lava ETab XTRON vs Acer Iconia B1

Lava has launched a new tablet E-Tab XTRON in the country recently. Part of company’s E-Tab tablet line-up, it will be competing with Acer’s budget tablet Iconia B1. Both tablets certainly seem great on-paper, but which one of these is better value for money, we will try and find out in this post.

Tablet market has been quite happening in India for the last one year. The release of Ice Cream Sandwich and the success of tablets in other market, led to the flood of budget Android slates reaching Indian shores. Most of these tablets were crap re-branded Chinese stuff, which would not work decently for even two-three months, but still there were always a few decent products out in the market. The two Android tablets, which we are comparing today, are also such tablets. Both tablets pack impressive specs and won’t leave you out of cash.

Lava ETab XTRON

Pros: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, 2MP front camera, and 1GB RAM

Cons: No Bluetooth, GPS

Acer Iconia B1

Pros: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, GPS and Bluetooth

Cons: Just 512MB RAM, 2710 mAh battery

Looking at the specs, both the tablets have their positives and negatives. But, if you can ignore lack of Bluetooth and GPS, Lava ETab XTRON certainly seems to be packing better features than Iconia B, which is also priced more.
