Android 4.2.2 might reach Nexus devices in next few weeks

Not so long ago, we saw Google pushing code for a new build of Android 4.2.1 in AOSP and now reports are coming in that Android 4.2.2 is also almost ready for deployment.  Said to be housing bug-fixes and other small improvements, the update is currently being tested by Google employees internally.

According to a report on IBTimes, update is minuscule at best, with minimal changes to security and bugs. The author of the report tested out the update and did not find any new visible changes.

IBTimes’s inside sources have also revealed that the update could be pushed to the Nexus devices in the next “couple of weeks,” but failed to give a clearer time-frame. Given the past instances of Android 4.2.2 appearing pre-loaded on select Nexus 4 phones in Malaysia and Brazil, we expect the update to arrive sooner than later.

As Google is most likely to announce Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie at the Google I/O 2013, it will try and fix all the known bugs in Jelly Bean as early as possible and push them to AOSP and Nexus devices.
