HTC, which has normally announced flagship smartphones at MWC, is expected to take a different route this time by announcing M7 at a special event in London in early February, claims Digitimes.
A previous report from an Italian blogger with inside knowledge had put HTC M7 announcement on February 19. While Digitimes does not reveal any specific dates, early-February does not necessarily match with the Feb 19 claim. Although, it is pretty certain now that M7 is indeed going to be announced before MWC and in London, we will leave the date for future reports or an official invite from the Taiwanese manufacturer that should be arriving in next few days.
Digitimes also confirms the previously leaked specifications of HTC M7, which include 4.7-inch SoLux 1080p display, Android 4.2 and 1.7GHz quad-core processor. It also adds that the phone will come with a 13MP rear camera and 4G LTE.
The smartphone would be released in store in mid-March, the publication added.
Although HTC might have dumped MWC, Huawei and LG do have plans to announce their flagship models at the Mobile World Congress, which is happening in the end of February.
