Acer to launch budget 8-inch & 10-inch quad-core tablets in Q4

Advertisements

Following the launch of cheap Iconia B1 tablet, Acer is now reportedly working on two Android tablets with 8-inch and 10-inch display sizes. According to a report in China Times, these tablets will be priced around NT$ 6,000 ($205) and NT$7,000 ($239) respectively.

Both the tablets run on MediaTek’s latest quad-core processor ‘MT6589,’ which was recently seen in Micromax A116 Canvas 2 HD phone that is set to go on sale in India next week.

Other details are hazy right now, but a separate report from Taipei Times claims that these tablets would go on sale in fourth quarter of the year, meaning we would see a launch at IFA 2013.

These tablets should join Iconia B1 in the budget-end of tablet market and are unlikely to have any fancy features or specs.
