This Android powered set-top box is not a Google TV product, but packs Android as the operating system with Huawei’s own TV-specific UI atop. This is clearly not the first product in this segment, but it is certainly showing a big trend among Chinese manufacturers, who are launching affordable Android powered TV boxes every day.
The Huawei MediaQ M310 features HiSilicon K3V2 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, Vivante GC4000 graphics, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage with microSD card slot, HDMI input /output, two USB 2.0 ports, SPDIF audio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The box also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
The device also comes with something called Huawei multi-screen (Pushing, mirroring), allowing users to mirror their smartphone content to their television using the set-top box.
The company is also making a more powerful set top box with specs like 2GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 2 Ethernet ports, a DVB digital TV receiver, and 2x 3.5? HDD bays for NAS applications.
