As you would expect with the next Galaxy S series smartphone, more and more rumours are coming in daily. The latest rumours indicate that the Galaxy S IV is codenamed “Altius” and will go on sale in April.

According to Sammobile, Samsung is planning to ship S IV starting week 16 of the year, which means, the first set of countries will get Galaxy S IV in stores around April 15, 2013. The latest rumours also confirm optional wireless charging support in Galaxy S IV; similar to what was recently reported.

Newly confirmed information about Samsung Galaxy S IV:

  • Code Name: Altius
  • Model Number: GT-I9500
  • Colours: Black / White
  • Battery Capacity: 2600 mAh
  • Special: Wireless Charging Kit

The major details are still far from getting any confirmation, but reports indicate the next Galaxy S smartphone will come with a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED 1080p display, Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, and Android 4.2.1. Another leak has suggested that S IV might come with S-Pen support, which seems a little unlikely.

Samsung is expected to announce the smartphone at a special Mobile Unpacked event in late March or early April.
