Yahoo releases updated email app for Android

Advertisements

Yahoo might not be at its peak right now, but it still commands a big traction among email users. During the last few years, company hasn’t been paying the deserved attention to its email users, but the entry of Merissa Mayer as CEO seems to have changed that.

She wrote on officially company blog today that Yahoo is releasing a new and improved Yahoo Mail experience and these enhancements will be available across the board including its official Android app.

“We’ve redesigned the new version of Yahoo! Mail with speed in mind — getting through your emails is faster than ever before. We’ve also made your inbox more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing you to focus on what matters most: your messages,” noted Mayer on Yahoo blog.

Change-log:

  • Renamed to ‘Y! Mail’
  • Better battery performance
  • Increased stability
  • More secure with SSL turned on by default
  • More reliable push notifications
  • New interface

I just loaded the android email app. Actually looks really nice now. But, (there’s always a but), if you have multiple yahoo accounts, you must now re log in each time you change accounts. Pain in the ass. I have several accounts on yahoo. Unistalled, and back to mail 1.4.6
