Snapseed for Android is here, but only supports ICS or above

As expected, Google has released the Snapseed for Android app just now in Google Play. The app release follows the Nik Software acquisition by Google in September this year. Unlike the previously available iOS version of app, which used to cost USD 4.99 (now free), the Android app is free.

For those of you unaware of Snapseed, it is an advanced but easy to use Image editing app. It is currently available for Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich or above.

You can find other restrictions below:

  • JPEG and TIFF photos only
  • Language support: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Arabic
  • Up to 8 MP images for phones, larger images will automatically be downsampled
  • Up to 16 MP images for tablets, larger images will automatically be downsampled

Basic Adjustments: Auto Correct, Selective Adjust, Tune Image, Straighten & Rotate & Crop

Creative Enhancements: Black & White, Vintage Films, Drama, Grunge, Tilt-Shift, Details, Center Focus, Organic Frames filters.

Google+ Integration: post images directly to Google+ from Snapseed
