Amazon Kindle Fire HD had ‘biggest day since launch’ after iPad mini announcement

One would expect that Apple’s iPad mini launch to have a negative impact on Kindle Fire HD sales, but it turns out that Kindle tablet is now selling more than usual.

The day after iPad mini announcement was actually Kindle Fire HD’s biggest day of sales.

“Wednesday was the $199 Kindle Fire HD’s biggest day of sales since launch and up 3xweek over week,” Amazon told in an emailed statement to AllThingsD.

As Amazon never sales the actual sales data, this is all we have.

It seems several buyers were just waiting to see what Apple had in store for them, but looks like iPad mini did not entice them enough or probably the $329 pricing was the deal-breaker.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD went on sale a few weeks ago and is already the retailer best-selling item. IT comes with a 7-inch HD display, 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor, 1GB RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage and custom version of Android.
