After releasing the Iconia Tab A110 in UK, Acer has announced the tablet for North American on Thursday. Priced at $229.99, this 7-inch tablet will go on sale in US and Canada starting October 30.

Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the A110 comes with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, MicroUSB and Micro-HDMI port. For your video calling needs a 2-megapixel front-facing camera is present on the tablet.

“Today’s consumers are increasingly mobile and want easy and instant access to entertainment at all times. The Iconia Tab A110 is another example of how Acer is meeting the needs of consumers, by providing tablet form factors that combine portability and performance for fun and gaming, at affordable prices,” said Paul Tayar, senior director of product marketing for connected devices, Acer America.

Acer is only selling the 8GB variant of the tablet in the US.

Although, Acer tries very hard to present a viable alternative to Nexus 7, but the low display-resolution, comparability less battery life and future Android version support mar the deal of Iconia Tab A110. The only positive for Iconia Tab seems to be the microSD card slot.
