“The Galaxy S III introduced a new concept of smartphone that has proven hugely popular around the world. We’re now delighted to bring its revolutionary design, intuitive usability and intelligence to the Galaxy S III mini in a more compact form,” said JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics.
As rumoured, Samsung Galaxy S III Mini comes with 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 800x480p resolution, 1GHz dual-core processor, and 5MP rear camera with LED flash. It also features 1GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage, and 1500 mAh battery.
The smartphone also sports NFC chip and will support S-Beam functionality. According to Samsung, Galaxy S III Mini will also be pre-loaded with cool features like S-Voice, Smart Stay, Direct Call, and Buddy Photo Share, all these features were first introduced in Samsung Galaxy S III and since made their way to other Galaxy series smartphones like Galaxy Note II and more.
Update: Although Samsung did not reveal the pricing, UK retailer Clove has. According to a pre-order listing on the site. The phone will sell at £249 (INR 20,962) (£298.80 inc. tax).
Update II: Now Pocket Lint is reporting that S III Mini will land in UK next month, i.e. November. We can speculate that it should reach India soon after.
