While the shipping box Indicates 16GB as storage of the tablet, the actual tablet is a 32GB version, which is yet to be officially announced. Spotted by Nate Hoffelder from The Digital Reader on Twitter, the tablet seems real. Buyer has even posted an image showing the storage option, which does not seem to be a Photoshop job.
Nexus 7 had recently gone on sale in several Asian countries including Japan, Korea, and Singapore.
Originally announced by Google at I/O 2012, Nexus 7 was released in 8 and 16GB versions initially without an expendable storage support. Several users were frustrated with the apparent lack of storage, but it seems Google has taken that into consideration and soon going to release Nexus 7 32GB version.
Given the tablet was already shipped to the Japanese buyer; we can expect that it is already in production and should be made official soon.
As the 8GB version costs $199 and 16GB $249, 32GB version is expected to go on sale at $299, unless Google decides to take down the prices.
We have also heard about a 3G version of the tablet to be in works but that is an unconfirmed rumour until now. We hope to hear something from Google soon.
Update: Another leak has emerged from Twitter that suggests that Nexus 7 32GB version is imminent. A Twitter user today posted a screenshot allegedly showing the inventory list of UK retailers PC World/Currys. The list shows Nuex 7 32GB version listed with GBP199 price tag, which is right now the price of 16GB version. Looks like a price-cut is also on the way with 32GB version announcement.
