Motorola announced late yesterday that it is open sourcing key features of the MOTODEV Studio For Android development tool and will add the code to Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
“MOTODEV Studio has been a popular companion to the Android SDK, providing developers with enhanced workflows, the ability to easily localize content to other languages; browse and manipulate SQLite databases; drag and drop reusable code snippets; and wizards for creating Java code for Android apps. Together with the Android SDK from Google, MOTODEV Studio Core Plugins will allow developers to get better-quality apps to market faster,” company noted in a blog post.
Now, developers will be able to add these plugins to their Eclispse setup and use them, Instructions given here. You can also browse the code at the Android Open Source Project repository.
Hope this helps Motorola.
