Sony has confirmed on its support forum that it will stick to the late May/Early June schedule for Xperia S Ice Cream Sandwich update roll-out.

While the company has already started rolling out Android 4.0 update for select phone in 2011 Xperia line-up, the Xperia S users have been waiting tirelessly for the update on their smartphone. The update would be rolled-out OTA and also via the PC Companion software.

Originally showcased at CES 2012 and released in India last month is currently running on Android 2.3. It features 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 12.1 MP rear camera, front camera and 4.3 inch 720p display.

The ICS update is expected to boost the smartphone performance overall and would certainly make it more enticing for the consumers.
