New Twitter client Carbon for Android coming soon and looks amazing

Advertisements

Very few times do I see a video preview of an upcoming app and get as excited as I did when I saw the teaser video released yesterday for a new Twitter client, called “Carbon” for Android. Carbon is a client design built specifically for use with Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 devices and it just might be the best looking one we’ve seen yet.

If you’re familiar with WebOS, you might remember this one from its fame on that platform — it was available there for $2.99. It’s also available for $1.99 on Windows Phone 7, so you may have seen it there as well. No price has been set yet for the Android version, but I’d bet on it being somewhere within a dollar or two of the mentioned prices.

Before you disregard this as just another Twitter app, you might want to have a look at the video below, which was posted on Google+. Unfortunately, it’s a very brief hands on, but by the end of the clip, all I could think of was how badly I want/need this app on my phone.

As you can see, Carbon just might take the cake for being the best looking Twitter app on the market once it becomes available. The version in the clip is said to be the last before a public release, so we’re hoping to have a Google Play link for you soon, but no specific time frame was given.

What are your thoughts? Do you like the design, or is it a bit flashy for you? Drop us a comment below to share your opinion.
