Samsung Galaxy S users to get value pack update in March-end

Advertisements

Along with the Galaxy S II ICS update roll-out announcement, Samsung has also revealed that it will be releasing a value pack Gingerbread update for original Galaxy S users in March-end. This update will be available via Samsung Kies.

According to company, value pack update contains features like Face Unlock, Snapshot, Photo Editor and several others, but it will still be based on Android 2.3.  We have already seen a leaked value pack ROM from the company and it included improved camera performance with the ability to take pictures while recording videos, new lockscreen sounds, and improved performance in browser, gallery and gaming. So all these features are expected to be available in this update.

Company has also announced that GALAXY Tab 7”, GALAXY S Plus, GALAXY S SCL(Super Clear LCD), and GALAXY W will be getting newer Gingerbread build by the end-of-March. There is no word on what these builds will include.

This really suck software support from Samsung, I like Apple, although the phone is 3GS, but still able to get the lastest firmware support.

Angelos, how can you complain about Samsung’s software support? We’ve got several OS updates: 2.1-> 2.2.1->2.3.3–> Value Pack. I don’t really understand Samsung’s decision, but we can’t complain about support u.u

i wont be replacing my samsung galaxy s with and new samsung product as i am sure the galaxy s should still be recieving the update if companys are going to sell the phone on a 2 yr contact i think it sucks massively — So good by samsung hello a new make off phone in 4 months time 🙂
