Vodafone launches HTC Velocity 4G as Europe’ first LTE smartphone

Vodafone and HTC have announced the launch of Velocity 4G Android smartphone in Germany yesterday. Velocity 4G is the first Android smartphone to support LTE connectivity in Europe and will go on sale in Germany on March 1. It will be priced under 200 Euros with a contract.

The LTE connectivity areas in Germany are limited right now but Vodafone expect to cover 90pc of the country by the end of this year.  Coming to HTC Velocity 4G, which was recently launched in Australia too, it features 4.5 inch qHD display, Android 2.3, 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and 1620 mAh battery.

HTC has already promised the ICS update for the smartphone and it will be available in early Q2.
