Rumors were already rife about Samsung Galaxy S III’s absence from next month’s Mobile World Congress, but now Samsung has reportedly confirmed to the same to UK based Techradar. According to a statement given to publication, Galaxy S3 will be announced at a separate event in the first half of this year.

Company wants the launch to be near the commercial availability unlike in the past when consumers have to wait for weeks or even months for smartphone to arrive in the market.

“Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012. The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.”

This is not necessarily a bad news for consumers as their seems to be no change in the actual availability of the smartphone.
