Verizon announces Droid RAZR Maxx along with RAZR purple edition

Verizon has announced two new additions to its Droid line-up today at CES. These additions are Droid RAZR Maxx and Droid RAZR Purple. Both the smartphones will be available on Verizon in the coming weeks.

Droid RAZR Maxx is a small upgrade over the original Droid RAZR with a much powerful battery inside (3300 mAh). It will be sold for $299.99 with a new two-year customer agreement and will come with 32GB of total memory.

On the other hand, Droid RAZR Purple is just a color edition, other specifications like Android 2.3, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Advanced display and 1GB RAM, remain the same. It will be sold for $199.99 with new two year contract.

Company has also announced that both Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, but did not give a specific time-frame.
