Toshiba announces Excite X10 tablet, coming to US in Q1

Waiting for world’s thinnest and lightest 10.1 inch tablet, Toshiba has announced it at CES earlier today. Dubbed as Excite X10, it is expected to launch in the United Sates sometime this quarter.

Toshiba Excite X10 seems to be pretty much same as Toshiba AT200, which was announced last year and had the same specifications, but did not have the world’s lightest moniker. So, it seems Toshiba has worked on the weight of AT200 and re-introduced it as Excite X10.

It features Android 3.2, 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor 1GB of RAM, 10.1-inch 1280x800p display, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing shooter, stereo speakers, Micro HDMI and micro SD card port. Excite X10 is just 7.7mm thick and weighs 1.2 pounds (544.31 grams).

Availability & Pricing:

Toshiba has not given the launch time-table for any other country apart from US right now, so we will have to wait for that. On the pricing front, US consumers will have to shell out $529 for the 16GB model and $599 for the 32GB model. A 4G variant from AT&T is also on the cards.
