Asus recalls 300 Transformer Prime tablets due to WiFi issues, US launch on track

Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has announced recall of around 300 Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablets due to unstable WiFi connectivity. According to company, this problem was present in the first batch of tablets sold before December 3.

Company has earlier launched Prime in Taiwan on December 1, so the defected pieces are only sold in Asus’ home-country.  The next batch of tablet had the problem fixed, thus keeping the victims to a minimum.

On the other hand, company added that it is on track with Transformer Prime US launch on December 19. This quad core tablet is already on pre-order at major online retail stores in the country.

I have a Transformer with keyboard, my wife has a Transformer Prime with keyboard, BOTH of them are defective, wi-fi will not stay connected longer than 60 seconds, Asus knew about this problem, released them for purchase regardless, i am very frustrated and am looking for others for a class-action suit, i was hoping it wouldn’t come to this but they are not helping to find a fix, I am not taking a $1200.00 loss
