Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime arriving in Taiwan today, US on Dec 12 (update)

Asus spokesperson has told Netbook News that Taiwan will be the first country to see the availability of Transformer Prime today. There is launch event scheduled later today and tablet will go on sale around the same time.

Asus Transformer Prime features NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor, 32GB of internal memory, 10.1 inch display, 8MP rear camera, 1.2MP camera on the front and 1GB of RAM. While Asus has previously stated that Prime will come with Android 3.2 at the launch, but there are still rumors that we might see it with Android 4.0 today at the launch event in Taiwan.

On the other hand, same Asus spokesperson confirmed that US will be getting Transformer Prime on December 8 in time for the holiday shopping, while European consumers will have to wait till January.

Update: It seems Netbook News wasn’t all that right about the US availability. According to the latest but of information coming from Asus US directly, Transformer Prime will be available in US starting Dec 12 (online), the retail stores will get it on December 19.
