Advertisements

Sony Ericsson has stated in the past that its Xperia smartphones released this year will get the Android 4.0 update. Company today re-affirmed that position on its official product blog, confirming that all the following smartphones will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich sometime next year.

Sony Ericsson Xperia arc and arc S, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo and neo V, Xperia mini and mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active, Xperia ray as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman

As Google has already released the Android 4.0 source code, manufacturers including SE will have already started working to port their software to the latest release. As Sony Ericsson uses Time Scape UI over Android, so it will have to make Timescape compatible with ICS to make the device specific build of Ice Cream Sandwich.

Company will release the other relevant details in the time to come.
