Rugged Motorola Defy+ Android phone available in India

Advertisements

Motorola India has started selling the rugged Motorola Defy+ in the Indian Market. The smartphone was spotted on Flipkart today bearing a price tag of INR 17,990, which is roughly the same as its predecessor original Defy.

Motorola Defy+ was first announced internationally in August this year, August 15 to be precise. It has seen various increments in terms of software as well as hardware from the original smartphone. Defy+ is also dust/water proof and scratch resistant as the original.

It features Android 2.3, 1GHz processor, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, and 3.7 inch display. While the listed features seems fine at the price point but the lack of front camera is a bit downer, as it has become an important part of smartphones and comes in even entry-level handsets.

If you can let go of front camera absence then Defy can be a great choice. Other smartphones that are available in the Indian market around the similar point are Xperia Ray and Active from Sony Ericsson, Optimus Black from LG and Samsung’s original Galaxy S, if you can find in stock.

The real competition is between Xperia Active and Defy+, both of them represent the similar target market, but Xperia Active lacks in terms of display size and price. What are you looking for; if you are going for Motorola Defy+, let us know in comments.

Thanks Sunder
