Orange partners NTT Docomo, Sharp to bring AQUOS PHONE SH80F to France

Do you envy Japanese Android lovers for getting so many cool Android phones/tablets from companies like Sharp, which never get launched in Europe? Time to be happy, NTT Docomo has announced today that it will release Sharp AQUOS PHONE SH80F in partnership with Orange in France.

This 3D Android smartphone was till now a NTT Docomo exclusive under a different name AQUOS PHONE SH-12C. Orange will introduce it in France from October 6 as its first device capable of converting images and videos from 2D to 3D in real time.

It will probably also be released in other European markets where Orange operates, but was not made official today.

AQUOS PHONE SH80F features 4.2 inch qHD AQUOS LCD, DLNA, HDMI out, dual 8MP rear cameras for 3D capture, Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.4 GHz processor, 2GB internal memory and an expandable memory up to 32GB.

“SHARP is extremely proud to partner with Orange to launch together our ground-breaking AQUOS PHONE SH80F, the first Smartphone to convert 2D content into 3D in real-time, including streaming content like Orange TV,” said Masami Ohbatake, Group General Manager, Communication Systems Group, for SHARP Corporation.

Pricing:  AQUOS PHONE SH80F will be sold for €199 with subscription to an Origami package from €59 per month with an immediate €100 cash-back voucher valid from 6 October – 23 November 2011 in-store or online.
