German News Agency DPA is reporting that Apple has been granted an injunction in its patent dispute with Samsung by a German court, this barring the sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in most of the European Union. The only country not part of this injunction is Netherlands.

Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet has confirmed that a district court in Dusseldorf, Germany has granted the preliminary injunction.

In an statement given to Slashgear, Samsung said that it is disappointed with the court’s decision and it intend to act immediately to defend its intellectual property rights through the ongoing legal proceedings in Germany and will continue to actively defend these rights throughout the world.

It also added that it was given no notice of the request of injunction, and the subsequent order was issued with any hearing or evidence from Samsung.

Apple has a pending case on the similar lines in Netherlands as well, which may face the similar consequences – leaving Galaxy Tab 10.1 out of the whole EU.

Apart from EU, Australia is another country, where the Galaxy Tab launch was postponed by Samsung after an agreement was reached with Apple.
