Vodafone Webbox launched in India, available in Haryana now

As we reported yesterday, Vodafone has officially launched Webbox in India. Webbox is a QWERTY device, which brings Internet connectivity to your normal television using RCA cables.

Telecom operator is now selling in select cities of Haryana telecom circle, which include Ambala, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Sonipat. Vodafone Webbox has been priced at INR 5,799, which also gets you a 2GB SD card and 12 GB data usage valid for a period of 6 months.

Webbox is Android 2.1 powered, so you get a slew of applications and games, though it does not come with Android market support.

It will soon be rolled out to other parts of India, including the launch of 24 month contract plan to give you Webbox free of cost.
