Vodafone to launch Android powered Smart in India next month – Exclusive

Telecom operator Vodafone is getting ready to launch its second self branded Android device in the Indian market. To remind you, first was Webbox. Dubbed as Vodafone Smart, it is expected to launch around the end of next month.

Vodafone is planning to price it around INR 6-7K. Also known as Vodafone 858, it is already available in countries like UK. The OEM for this device is Huawei.

Vodafone Smart will feature Android 2.2, 528 MHz processor, 2.8 inch QVGA capacitive display, 2MP camera, aGPS, HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.1. We spent a little time with the device and it seemed a like a decent entry level Android phone.
