HTC Sensation will be available in the country from May 25 for 847,000 won with SK Telecom. It runs Android 2.3, 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 4.3 inch 540×960 pixel display, and an 8 MP camera.
HTC is trying hard to be a known brand in South Korea, and it was the fifth smartphone launch by the Taiwanese maker in the country.
“I have to admit it is not easy. The Korean market is the most difficult and challenging market for foreign brands,” Tong said. “It’s difficult for the foreign brands because you have strong local brands and they create a great user experience and they have good marketing skills and enjoy a great relationship with consumers.”
