Lava Mobiles opens R&D center to develop Android devices

Advertisements

It seems after Karbonn, Lava Mobiles is planning to go big on Android smartphones. Company has recently opened an R&D center in Bangalore to develop Android smartphones.

The Bangalore center currently has a 15 member team dedicated to Android platform and app development. The team is being overseen by Arvind Jha, who joined Lava Mobiles team last year and is currently looking after device, apps and VAS ecosystem development [according to his LinkedIn profile].

Company wants to expand the team to 100 members.  This seems a serious initiative from Lava’s point, and considering Google’s help to these companies to bring budget Android devices, we might see the results soon.

We hope that Lava does not work the Micromax way and bring a repackaged Chinese OEM device in India.

Thanks, Sunil

Totally agree. We want real Electronics companies, not marketing parasites that rebadge and inflate the price.
