Optimus One users will soon have the official Gingerbread goodness on their phone. Responding to one of our readers Rohan on Facebook, LG stated that the update will be available in end of May.

LG has previously made it official that all the Optimus series smartphone will get Android 2.3, but there was no timeframe announced. Thanks to today’s statement, we can now expect more details about the update soon.

We expect the update to be available via LG’s own update tool. Interestingly LG’s Facebook account says update will be available in Android Market, which is not possible, it must have been unawareness of the person responsible for the page.
