Samsung to launch a dual mode I909 in Taiwan next month

Get set for the launch of Samsung’s dual mode “GSM/CDMA” Galaxy S I909 in Taiwan this February. The smartphone has been custom made for Asia Pacific Broadband network – the only telecom operator in the country to support CDMA 2000.

Galaxy S I909 was leaked a few days back on its way to China Telecom. Now, Taiwan will be the second country to acquire it.

A modified version of original Galaxy S, it bears similar specifications, ie, 4 inch WVGA touchscreen display, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 5MP autofocus camera, WAP and 16GB of internal memory.

There is no word about the Android version in the device, but we are expecting it to be FroYo, hoping that the company will not commit a mistake of launching the gadget with an obsolete Android 2.1.
