Google wins Android trademark lawsuit

Advertisements

Google and OHA have finally won the long legal battle for the Android trademark. The presiding judge dismissed the case and cancelled the original Android Data trademark, on the basis of which Erich Specht had sued Google.

Specht had a company named Android Data, which received trademark in 2002. Company reportedly fell apart later, leaving the company dissolved and the trademark effectively abandoned. When Google has OHA started Android OS, Specht sued them.
