Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” SDK is here; brings NFC, large display support and more

Finally, the version we have been waiting for so long has arrived. Official launch will follow later in the day at All Things D: Dive Into Mobile conference, but official Android website has already made the SDK available for download.

Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” SDK Features:

  • SIP-based VOIP
  • Near Field Communications (NFC)
  • Gyroscope and other sensors
  • Multiple cameras support
  • Mixable audio effects
  • Download manager
  • StrictMode
  • UI Framework
  • Support for Extra Large Screens
  • Native access to Activity lifecycle, windows
