As promised, Google has released the Android 5.0 software development kit (SDK) as well as updated Android 5.0 preview system images of Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013 Wi-Fi) devices on its developer website.

Android developers will finally be able to test out their applications on the final version of Android 5.0 and make use the 5000 new APIs introduced with the version. The 5.0 SDK can now be grabbed from SDK manager or if you are starting fresh, you can grab it from Android Developers website.

Coming to the Android 5.0 preview system images for Nexus devices, Google has released the updated preview system images for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 devices on its website and can be downloaded by the interested consumers and developers to flash on their devices.

“Although the APIs for Android 5.0 are now final, the system image for end-users is not available yet. So the following preview system images are available for you to test your apps on a Nexus 5 or Nexus 7,” Google noted on the Android Developers website.

The final and stable version of Android 5.0 for the regular users will be released for Nexus devices beginning next month over-the-air.
