WhatsApp is beefing up its Wallpaper and Sticker features. The company on Tuesday announced that it will now allow users to have separate chat wallpapers for each chat if they want. Additionally, it is also releasing its default wallpaper in more colours. Further, it will also expand its wallpaper library with more images going forward. This is not all, WhatsApp will also allow users to set different wallpapers for light and dark modes on their phones.
“Make your chats personal and distinguishable by using a custom wallpaper for your most important chats and favourite people, and you never need worry about sending the wrong message in the wrong chat ever again,” WhatsApp said in a statement.

Clearly, a lot is happening on the wallpaper front on WhatsApp but don’t worry, stickers are also getting the much needed love. It is making it easier to search and find stickers, or browse through various sticker categories. Moreover, the app is also adding more stickers, including WHO’s Together at Home sticker pack in animated form.
According to WhatsApp, Together at Home has been its one of the most popular sticker packs and “will now be even more expressive and useful in its animated form.”
The launch of new wallpaper and sticker features comes less than a month after WhatsApp started rolling out “Disappearing Messages” feature. There is still no word on when the much awaited proper multi-device support will be added.
WhatsApp is a massively popular chat app that has over 2 billion users worldwide. It is especially loved in markets like India where pretty much everyone with a phone to run it uses it.
The app also finally got permission for the full-fledged launch of its payments platform in India that was stuck in the beta phase for years. WhatsApp Pay will take some months for reach all users in the country; however, millions already have access to it.
