Reliance Jio has introduced a new offer for its prepaid subscribers that brings free 1-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP (previously known as Hotstar VIP). The offer is valid on select recharge plans and select 4G data vouchers. Disney+ Hotstar VIP normally costs Rs. 399 when subscribed directly via the Disney-owned service. Although the free Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription will become available right after you recharge your Jio prepaid connection for the first time, you will have to keep your Jio account active with base recharge to continue the Disney+ Hotstar subscription.
Here’s everything you need to know about Jio Hotstar offer
Basically, Jio is following in the footsteps of Airtel that was launched a very similar offer in April and is also giving 1-year free subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP. Now, Jio says if you recharge your Jio prepaid account with Rs. 401 or Rs. 2,599, you will get free 1-year of Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription. In addition, you can also get the free Hotstar VIP subscription by topping up your Jio prepaid account with Rs. 612, Rs. 1004, Rs. 1206, or Rs. 1208 4G data vouchers. Notably, both Rs. 401 and Rs. 2,599 recharge plans as well as Rs. 601 and Rs. 1208 data vouchers are brand-new launches from Jio.
What is Disney+ Hotstar
For those who don’t know about Disney+ Hotstar, it is a video streaming service like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The service offers three tiers – free, VIP, and Premium. Free as the name says is free and offers a limited selection of content with ads, VIP is an ad-free tier but it is also limited in content selection. VIP includes live sports, local-language dubs (not English versions) of Marvel, Disney, and Pixar movies, Hotstar Specials TV shows, latest Bollywood movies, and more. Jio’s new Hotstar-special Rs. 401 recharge plan comes with 3GB of daily high-speed speed, after you have crossed the daily 3GB limit, your data speed will drop to 64Kbps. Additionally, you will enjoy unlimited free Jio-to-Jio calls, unlimited free Jio-to-landline calls, and 1000 minutes for calls for other telecom networks. Jio apps access and 100 SMS per day are also bundled in the plan. This plan is valid for 28 days. For a limited period, this plan will also get you 6GB of additional free high-speed data.
Jio Rs. 2599 recharge plan
The Rs. 2,599 Jio plan packs 2GB of daily high-speed data, following the consumption of 2GB data, the Internet speed will drop to 64Kbps. Additionally, same as Rs. 401 Jio plan, you will get unlimited free Jio-to-Jio calls, unlimited free Jio-to-landline calls, 100 SMS per day, and access to Jio app. Further, the telecom operator is giving 12,000 minutes for calls to other telecom networks. This plan is valid for 365 days. For a limited period, this plan will also get you 10GB of additional free high-speed data.

As mentioned, apart from the Rs. 401 and Rs. 2,599 recharge plan, you can also get free 1-year access to Disney+ Hotstar by getting a data voucher. As per Jio website, four data vouchers will get you the Hotstar offer, here’re are their details.
