Introduced at a press event earlier today in Beijing, the Vivo X20 sports a 3D arc metal design with a 6.01-inch 18:9 full HD Super AMOLED screen. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and runs on Android 7.1.1 with FunTouch UI. In addition, Vivo has included four gigabytes of RAM, 64-gigabytes/ 128-gigabytes of on-board storage, microSD card slot and 3245 mAh battery.
For the imaging needs, the X20 comes with dual rear camera setup with 24-megapixel f1.8 and 5-megapixel sensors. On the front, there is a 24-megapixel f2.0 selfie camera. (The 24-megapixel sensors used by Vivo are actually 12MP dual-pixel sensors – most likely Sony IMX362 – which have twice the number of light-capturing photodiodes as conventional sensors of the same resolution and intelligently create one 24-megapixel photo. Vivo had used the same arrangement in XPlay 6.)
Usual connectivity options including dual-SIM support and a fingerprint sensor are also present on the phone.
There is no word on the international availability at this point, but we are trying to find more information and will update this report as soon as we have more details.
Vivo X20 Plus
In addition to the standard X20, Vivo has also launched a X20 Plus variant. It will cost CNY 3498 ($530) and will include a larger 6.43-inch screen size, 3905 mAh battery and upgraded camera with multi-axis optical image stabilization. Other specifications of the X20 Plus are same as X20.
