According to Huawei, the Sports variant will carry an official price-tag of INR 20,999, Sports 4G will be sold at INR 29,999 and the Classic variant has been priced at INR 25,999.
Introduced back at the Mobile World Congress this year, the Huawei Watch 2 hasn’t got the best of reviews. While its predecessor was universally loved among the Android Wear smartwatches, Watch 2 has underwhelmed the reviewers.
While the Sports variants of the Huawei Watch 2 sport a plastic body with a metal back, the Classic version has a mix of both metal and plastic in its construction. It houses a circular 1.2-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass.
Other specifications of the smartwatch include Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor, Android Wear 2.0, 768MB of RAM, and 4GB internal storage. Additionally, it packs a heart rate sensor, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi + 4G in Sports 4G version), NFC and 420 mAh battery. The smartwatch is also water resistant.
Like other Android Wear smartwatches, you can use Watch 2 as an activity tracker, sleep tracker, and a second screen to your phone (to view notifications etc). You will also be able to make calls using VoLTE on the 4G version.
“The Huawei Watch 2 provides users more connectivity options, Android Wear 2.0 encased in stunning new looks. With customer and market insights, the newly launched WATCH 2 is focused on creating a standalone experience for consumers owing to its smart connected technology. Truly next generation in every aspect,” said P Sanjeev, Vice- President, Sales, Huawei Consumer Business Group.
