According to Motorola, the Moto E Lollipop update brings the usual Lollipop specific changes like material design, enhanced notifications, Smart Lock and performance improvements as well as Motorola-specific tweaks like updated Motorola Assist & Ambient display. This update will directly take most Moto E (1st Gen) units to Android 5.1 from Android 4.4. The first soak test users, who have Android 5.0.2 on-board and did not get the Android 5.1 soak test update, will be getting a small update with Android 5.1-specific changes.

Hey there are issues in OTA update. Today I got the OTA update but I chose to manually update the system later. But now the notification of Lollipop update does not show and by manually going to Settings>About Phone>System Update it shows system is up to date.

Guys i got Lollipop 5.1 update for my Moto E 1st generation (just checked today 21/7/2015). Bought on inaguration sale. But scared to update. Can anyone tell me how to downgrade 5.1 to kitkat if i dont like it.
If u know that how to downgrade for moto e plz share immediately because my phone memory is full after upgrading to lollipop 5.1 and can’t operate smoothly.
hi kasif try again now , i had same problem yesterday , now it is downloading, keep space of around 500 mb, update is of 362.4 mb

what a disaster… upgrade from kitkat to lollipop made my phone unusable other doing voice calls. i doubt google has tested it on moto-e… now dont know what to do as downgrading to kitkat is costly (have to loose data). anybody successfully upgraded ? pl help
