Asus delays Lollipop roll-out for Zenfone 4, 5 and 6

Asus was supposed to roll-out the Android 5.0 update for its original Zenfone line-up in mid-May, but the company seems to be facing some technical issues. Thus, the company has decided to delay the update.

“ASUS team has found some issues during verification. We decided to delay the Android L upgrade schedule in order to provide better user experience. We are currently working on the related issues and will release the upgrade as soon as possible,” a company representative noted on Asus ZenTalk.

There is no word on when the Lollipop will now be released for Zenfone 4, 5 and 6, but we hope that it will be sooner rather than later, as it has already been over six months since Google officially released the Android 5.0 code in AOSP.

In related news, it looks like the Padfone S won’t be getting the Android 5.0 update. The company has noted that it has postponed the Lollipop update for Padfone S indefinitely due to some limitation of the device’s processor. The device will continue to get Android 4.4-based firmware updates.
