Huawei has sent out invites to the tech press in the United States for an event on June 2 in New York. The company has noted that it will be showcasing the new devices as well as detail its strategy for the US market on the day.

It isn’t clear at this moment, which smartphones or tablets, the Chinese smartphone maker plans to release in the country, but it is likely that Huawei will introduce the new P8 smartphone. [via]

Android 5.1.1. update coming to Nexus 5 anytime now

US telecom operator Sprint has revealed that Google is all set to release the new Android 5.1.1 update for the Nexus 5 update. LG might build the next Nexus smartphone: Report

LG has told Android Pit that it is considering to make the next Nexus smartphone. Nothing is official or confirmed at this point, but the company is reportedly in talks with Google.

LG isn’t the first manufacturer that has been in news for building the Nexus 6 successor, there were some unconfirmed reports about Huawei being in fray as well, however nothing credible has appeared online.

YotaPhone 2 receives a price-cut, Android 5.0 update

Yota Devices has announced that it is reducing the price of YotaPhone 2, the dual-display smartphone, by 100 euros. It will now start 599 euros in European markets (GBP 440 in UK).
