HTC introduces J Butterfly HTV31 in Japan

HTC J Butterfly Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has announced the new J Butterfly smartphone in the Japanese market. The phone will be released in partnership with telecom operator KDDI in the country. It is the third J Butterfly smartphone from the company, the first was released in 2012 and second in 2014.

According to HTC, the smartphone sports a 5.2-inch Quad-HD LCD and is powered by 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The phone also features 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 2700 mAh battery and microSD card slot.

On the imaging front, HTC has packed 20.2MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and 13MP front shooter. The HTC J Butterfly runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense UI.

HTC has noted that the phone will go on sale in early-June in three colour options. There is no word on the global release, but the phone might be launched in select Asian market under the Butterfly moniker.

In addition to the J Butterfly, KDDI will launch six other Android phones as a part of its summer 2015 line-up.
