Asus to unveil ZenPad 7 tablet at Computex with Intel Atom X3 SoC: Report

Asus logoAsus is reportedly getting ready to unveil a new ZenPad line-up of tablets at the upcoming Computex trade fair in Taipei. According a report in Notik.ru, the company will announce the ZenPad 7 as the first tablet of the series.

The publication notes that ZenPad 7 will be released in both Wi-Fi only and LTE variants with model numbers Z170C and Z170CG respectively. The tablet will be the company’s first slate with Intel’s new Atom X3 SoC, which was introduced at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. Atom X3 is a quad-core chip based on 28nm process, made for affordable devices.

Other specifications of the tablet are said to include 2MP primary camera, VGA secondary shooter, 3950 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. ZenPad 7 will run on Android 5.0 with Zen UI and sports a 7-inch 1024x600p display.

The Notik report has also revealed that the tablet will go on sale in July and will be priced starting $150.

In related news, ZenPad 7 isn’t the only new device set to be announced at Computex, Asus will also take the wraps of the second-gen ZenWatch at the event, which is scheduled for June 2-6.

Update: Looks like Asus will also announce the ZenPad 8 at the event.
