If you follow a significant number of active Twitter users, you would know the pain of keeping up with all the tweets. Well, Twitter understands your pain and to help you with the problem, the social giant has launched the new Highlights feature in Twitter for Android.
Twitter Highlights is a quick and simple digest of the top tweets from your timeline. According to the company, it will push the Highlights to your Android phone around one or two times a day suggesting you to check out the most relevant tweets.
“To create your Highlights, we look at things like the accounts and conversations that are popular among people you follow, Tweets from people you’re closely tied to, topics and events that are trending in your area or within your network, and people that are popular or trending among people you follow,” explained Twitter in a blog post.
Twitter Highlights appear in a new interface in the app and you can view the tweets by simply swiping through from right to left. When you’ve reached the last Highlight, another swipe puts you directly into your home timeline.
It is an opt-in only feature and is currently available to English language users. You can go to Settings > your account handle > mobile notifications menu > Highlights to turn on the feature.
