ICICI Bank launches Android Wear app for on-the-go banking

ICICI Bank on Wednesday launched “iWear”, an application for Android Wear smartwatches. The app is now available in Google Play and is surprisingly a separate application rather than being bundled in the company’s mobile banking app “iMobile” as most Android Wear apps are.

According to ICICI Bank, the app allows the consumers to check account balance, last three transactions, credit card balance and recharge their prepaid mobile.

“We are among the few players globally that will allow transactions through this application on both Apple and Android platforms. On Android, prepaid mobile recharge can be done, while on Apple devices, there is the facility of personal offers, bill payments, recharge and locator for branch and ATM apart from ability to view balance,” said Rajiv Sabharwal, Executive Director, ICICI Bank, in a statement.

To use the app, you will have to install the iWear on your paired Android smartphone and enter the required details and the application will automatically appear on your smartwatch.
